As a “Cavaquinho” player, Mr. Arruda Junior specializes in the five-string “Cavaco” and instrumental music.

In the area of music theory, Mr. Arruda Junior possesses solid knowledge in the challenging Brazilian music style known as Chorinho. This style demands exceptional skill, and only a few musicians can master it. His competence in this area underscores his dedication to musical excellence and his commitment to expanding his repertoire. As an educator, Mr. Arruda Junior is an expert in teaching “Cavaco,” five-string Cavaco, and classical guitar, with a focus on music score reading. His ability to effectively communicate musical concepts and techniques is a testament to his pedagogical prowess. Additionally, his experience as a vocalist in various musical rhythms further demonstrates his comprehensive understanding of different musical elements.

Analytical music therapy

Analytical music therapy involves utilizing an impromptu, musical "conversation" by singing or playing an instrument to convey your subconscious thoughts, which can be analyzed and discussed with your therapist later.

Benenzon music therapy

Benenzon music therapy is a format that blends certain psychoanalytic principles with the act of creating music. It involves discovering your "musical sound identity," which refers to the external sounds that best reflect your internal psychological condition

Cognitive behavioral music therapy (CBMT)

The combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT and music is used in this approach. Music is utilized in CBMT to strengthen certain behaviors and alter others. This approach is organized and may involve activities such as listening to music, singing, dancing or playing an instrument.

Nordoff-Robbins music therapy

This approach, known as creative music therapy, utilizes an instrument (typically a drum or cymbal) played by the patient while the therapist plays a separate instrument. Through improvisation, music is utilized to facilitate self-expression.

What Happens in a Music Therapy Session?

Patients do not need to be musicians or have a musical background to benefit from music services, which are around experiencing music within the relationship.
